VLASTA ŠNÁBLOVÁ COLLU
With nearly two decades of professional experience in bespoke and couture tailoring and millinery Vlasta understands her clients' needs perfectly. Her creations reflect this gifted designer’s eye for detail, years of experience with cutting garments to real women and knowing what cut is flattering for different body shapes.
The designer (born and raised in the Slovak Republic) was always passionate about art, design and couture. She was trained from a young age in couture tailoring and millinery by her talented grandmother. Studying mathematics at Comenius University combined later with studies at London College of Fashion has given Vlasta an insight into developing flawless silhouettes and precise cuts. Her millinery work has been influenced by a positive critique and direction from Marie O’Regan and training by Ian Bennet.
Vlasta's gowns, garments and hats have been worn by clients over the whole world. She has participated in several collaborations, such as a collection of hydrochromic couture rainwear for Squid London that has been exhibited in the Kent State University Museum in the USA. Her collections of monochrome hats have been exhibited in OC Concept Stores in New York and Saint Tropez. She has created several headwear collections for various bridal and eveningwear designers and boutiques. Her designs were featured in numerous magazines such as You and Your Wedding, Cosmopolitan Bride, The Brides, The Wedding, Wedding Ideas, Attire Bridal Magazine to name some as well as featured on television - ITV, Wedding TV and Slovakian STV1 and RTV. Vlasta was also teaching couture techniques and bodice construction courses at Fashion Antidote and giving private lessons in her London studio.
